Legal Tip: Guardianship and Conservatorship

The proceeding to become the medical and financial caretaker for someone is a guardianship and conservatorship action.  Many people find this necessary for elderly parents or disabled children/relatives.  It requires a brief court hearing with presentation of evidence showing the need for a caretaker.

As usual, every situation is unique.  Consult with an attorney to find out the full details.
