Legal Tip: Mediation can be useful (Family Law)

Using Mediation Can Be Useful:

Generally speaking, in Virginia, using mediation for family law cases is a wonderful way to resolve outstanding issues with your spouse. However, it is much better to have an attorney draft the final agreement in order to be sure that all legal bases are covered after you have resolved your issues through mediation. At minimum, be sure that you have an attorney review any documents before you sign them to assist you in examining the documents for potential loop holes or ambiguities. It will cost much more in legal fees to have changes made after the fact and such changes may not even be not even be possible.

As usual, every situation has exceptions.  Consult with a Charlottesville attorney to get the full details.
